Professional Background
I completed my medical training at the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in 2008, and later specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology at Hospital da Baleia, in Belo Horizonte — an institution that marked my professional trajectory, due to its solid technical training and the interaction with professors and colleagues with remarkable experience.
During this period, I had the opportunity to begin my surgical practice under the guidance of Drs. Wagner Nogueira and Fábio Baião, references in the field and great influences on my orthopedic training.
In 2012, I completed international training at the reference center in Lecco, Italy, under the supervision of professors Dr. Maurizio Catagni and Dr. Francesco Guerreschi, deepening my knowledge of the Ilizarov method and advanced bone reconstruction and lengthening techniques.
Currently, I dedicate myself fully to bone reconstruction and lengthening, working as the head and coordinator of this area at the Madre Teresa Hospital and Unimed Contorno Hospital in Belo Horizonte. Patients are cared for by an experienced team from the Brazilian Bone Lengthening Center (NALO). Pediatric patients are treated at the São Camilo Children's Hospital and Mater Dei Contorno.
I provide outpatient and office care at these hospitals and also at private clinics, offering specialized support to patients undergoing orthopedic and reconstructive treatment.
I also perform the functions of medical residency preceptor in these services and R4 preceptor (subspecialization in bone reconstruction) at Hospital da Baleia, a program accredited by ASAMI-Brazil.
Since 2018, I have actively participated in the scientific and organizational activities of the Brazilian Association of Bone Reconstruction and Lengthening (ASAMI-Brazil), having started on the Scientific Committee and currently being a member of the society's board of directors.
Publications
In addition to clinical and surgical practice, I maintain an active participation in academia, having contributed as an author of chapters in reference works on Orthopedics, focused on the study and improvement of bone reconstruction techniques.

The Brazilian Bone Lengthening Center (NALO) is comprised of a team of orthopedic surgeons who have been a leading provider of bone reconstruction and lengthening in Brazil for over two decades. Its coordinators, Dr. Diogo Sabido, Dr. Henrique Resende, Dr. Bruno Souto, and Dr. Gabriel Milhomem, have over 15 years of experience diagnosing, planning, executing, and monitoring a wide range of bone lengthening procedures, whether for aesthetic purposes or deformity correction. The team operates in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, and receives patients from all over Brazil and abroad.
Scientific Meetings & Publications

Participation in medical conferences is an essential part of ongoing training and development in Orthopedics and Traumatology. These events, held nationally and internationally, promote the exchange of experiences, the presentation of scientific papers and topics, and the dissemination of new knowledge. They also represent an important forum for integration between professionals and institutions, fostering the development of partnerships, strengthening academic ties, and building collaborative networks between orthopedic services in Brazil and abroad.

Courses and training

Organizing and participating in orthopedic surgery training courses, both in Brazil and abroad, are essential for continuous updating and technical-scientific improvement. These events promote immersion in new technologies, surgical techniques, and treatment protocols that reflect the state of the art in modern medicine. In addition to strengthening theoretical and practical knowledge, they enable the exchange of experiences among professionals from different institutions and countries, broadening clinical insight and the ability to adapt to diverse realities. Acting as a prescriber, instructor, or participant in recognized training courses contributes to the dissemination of best practices, standardization of procedures, and consolidation of evidence-based medicine. This integration of teaching, research, and clinical practice ensures that physicians are prepared to offer safer, more effective treatments aligned with technological advances in orthopedics and contemporary medicine.
